ACT Championships (U9-U13) Wrap Up
15 March 2021
Unfortunately the rain had one last go at little Athletics on Sunday and we were only able to get a few events in before it had to be called off for child safety. Freezing, heavy rain and big winds was not a lot of fun and kudos to the kids who got out there anyway.
Saturday was hot and steamy but with a tail wind on the 100m track, we saw some great results and six Corroboree Records broken.
New Corroboree Records:
- U13M 100m Joshua Lobo (old 12.09s by Josh set at U14 champs). new record 11.86 set in the heat and then ran 11.89s in the final
- U11F 80m hurdles Lulu Marcelo broke her own record set a few weeks ago improving it from 16.34s to 15.79s after running 15.98s in the heat.
- U12F 80m Hurdles Edith McKerracher ran 16.53s in the finals breaking the old mark of 16.74s set last year.
- U12M 80m Hurdles Luke Peek ran 14.45s in the final after 14.67s in the heats, breaking the previous record set by Joshua Lobo of 15.92s.
- U17F 300m Hurdles Sarah Nutt broke her own record of 59.92 by running 55.07s (very impressive given she had to battle the head winds in the first 100m)
- U17M 300m Hurdles Angus Boshier broke his own record of 47.79s with a new time 44.11s running by himself into a headwind for the first 100m.
