Corroboree Froglets/Tiny Tots

This season for the first time we will be trialling a Tiny Tots programme. The ‘Corroboree Froglets’ is for children 3 to 4 years of age (U4/U5, born 2019 or 2020) and will run for one hour on Wednesdays from 5:30 – 6:30pm.

Tiny Tots focuses on participation and fun, using games to develop the fundamental skills of running, jumping and throwing through “appropriate” activities for 3-4 year olds. Emphasis is not on competition but on the development of young children through play and relatively unstructured games. Games include activities such as running and jumping over rope ladders, mini hurdles, hoops, throwing and catching bean bags or playing with the big parachute.

On Saturday mornings, as part of the Corroboree meet, the children will also get to participate in two ‘athletics’ events, such as long jump, a throw or a 50m run on the track. These events are for fun and will not be timed nor measured. The Corroboree Froglets can also participate in the Corroboree Christmas party (16 December, but not the Corroboree Gift) and the Corroboree Frog meet (March). For this first season we are limiting numbers to 30 kids in total across the two age groups. Priority registration will be given to those who have siblings in older Corroboree age groups.

Cost: Registration will cost $80 per child for the season. The Corroboree Froglets shirt will cost $35.

Where: Meet at the Corroboree containers, south west corner of Dickson Ovals.

Parents/Carers: Tiny Tots requires a lot of parental involvement and at least one parent/carer must be present to actively assist with their child.

What to wear: Comfortable, sun-smart active wear and sneakers. They will be provided with a registration patch and a Tiny Tots patch which should be pinned or sewn onto their Corroboree Froglet shirt. Remember to bring a hat and sunscreen.
