In recognition of a Corroboree Alumnus who has gone on to achieve outstanding success in the field of Athletics and will continue to do so. You show what is possible for a Corroboree kid!
Ethan’s athletics journey began in 2014 when he joined Little Athletics at Corroboree as an eager Under-9 competitor. His enthusiasm saw him attempt nearly every event before discovering his true talent in throws—Shot Put and Discus. He quickly rose through the ranks, winning ACT Championships in Shot Put (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) and Discus (2017, 2018). His talent earned him a spot at ALAC in Tasmania in 2018, where he competed in Discus.
Ethan’s dominance continued as he set records at Corroboree, holding the Under 10 Shot Put record and the Under 16 Discus and Shot Put records. Transitioning into senior athletics, he continued to refine his skills, eventually shifting his primary focus to Discus. His dedication paid off—he now holds the ACT Under 20 men’s records for Discus in both the 1.75kg and 2kg categories for all-comers and residents.
In 2022 and 2023, Ethan cemented his status as one of Australia’s top young throwers, claiming back-to-back National Championships in Discus. His success on the national stage led to an international breakthrough when he was selected to represent Australia at the Under-20 World Championships in Peru, where he finished an impressive sixth in the world.
Now competing in open athletics, Ethan is facing off against some of the best, including Australian Olympic athlete Matt Denny. His debut in major open competition at the Brisbane Track Classic this year saw him claim an outstanding third-place finish—an exciting glimpse of what’s to come in his promising career.
