Capital Athletics Open & U20 Championships
27 January 2026
The 2026 Capital Athletics Open and Under 20 Championships were held over three hot and demanding days at the AIS Track & Field Centre, with athletes competing not only for ACT titles but also valuable World Athletics ranking points and national qualification standards.
Across sprints, hurdles, jumps and endurance events, the meet delivered exactly what a championship should — fast times, tactical racing, and quality competition. With honours at stake and ranking points on offer, the standard was high and the atmosphere vibrant throughout the weekend.
Corroboree was proudly represented across both Open and U20 events, with several standout performances and multiple ACT-leading results.
The competition was held in very warm conditions, making performances across the board even more commendable. Athletes showed resilience and composure across multiple rounds and disciplines.
A special thank you to our Corroboree officials Ruud van Scheppingen and James Peek who contributed over a very hot weekend.
