Calwell hosted the fifth edition of the U6-U8 Teams Challenge. Corroboree had won the first four and were looking to make it number five to keep the trophy at ‘home’.

76 athletes from across the region, including Cooma, Goulburn and Queanbeyan, competed in the fun event and 19 of them were from Corroboree. We had two teams in U6s, one in U7s and one full team and an extra athlete in the U8s.

The weather was unusually cool but that didn’t dampen the spirits of the kids. We had some great Event Chiefs who kept the events fun for the kids as they threw Sandbag animals, plastic balls, vortexes, jumped hurdles, weaved in and out of poles and finally ended with a 5x100m relay.

At the end of the day, our U6 Koalas won their division, our four ladies kicked butt in the U7s and our full team in the U8s finished third. That was easily enough to ensure we took the overall title from Tuggeranong and Calwell in third place.
