The records keep tumbling
13 November 2024
Unbelievably, the records keep tumbling at Corroboree.
The race walk has proven fruitful with two records broken on 2 November.
Sebastian Ryan broke the U13 male 1500m record with a walk of 8:55.89s smashing a 2012 record held by Dylan Griffiths of 9:14.00s.
Rachel Giason broke the U14 female 1500m walk 8:20.76s, topping Jillian Ryans mark at last years ACT Championships of 8:26.28s.
Amelie Tyson broken the U12 female 70m record with a run of 10.78s beating 11.43s set by M. Corin in 2010. This distance hasn’t been offered for a number of years so its good to see it being beaten so quickly.
Last weekend, Freya Chambers beat her own U9 Girls Turbo Javelin mark by 14cm with a new distance of 11.89m.
Lucy Findlay broke the 200m Hurdles record with a time of 32.28s, beating a joint record held by Heidi Davidson and Lizanne van Scheppingen of 32.64s.
Finally, Tompson Frazer ran 46.39s for the 300m Hurdles, besting Jules Bacchus mark of 47.75s set in 2019.
Congratulations to all our worthy record holders.
